5 Seconds of Summer's Calum Hood admits feeling 'pressure' of being role model

5 Seconds of Summer star Calum Hood has opened up on being a role model.

The bassist and singer has naturally assumed the role of being an inspiration to many as a result of his place in the band.

The Australians have countless young fans across the globe but he told Rock Sound that there is a certain amount of "pressure" that comes with being a hero.

Hood said: "Being a role model for people who look up to you is a big thing. People that I look up to, I expect them to do the right things. There's a lot of pressure, but I think we're handling it alright."

5 Seconds of Summer meanwhile released their self-titled debut album in the US on July 22.

The record had previously been released in other regions and it has enjoyed big chart success.
