5 Seconds of Summer will perform on the Tonight Show next month.

The Australians are scheduled to visit the Jimmy Fallon-hosted US TV show on October 2.

The group are currently on tour in North America supporting One Direction on their Where We Are stadium run.

Their last date on the lengthy run will take place in Miami on October 5.

5 Seconds of Summer drummer Ashton Irwin meanwhile recently said that he believes one of the biggest tasks the band has had in the past couple of years was converting their YouTube fans into gig-goers.

He said: "We were building a fan base but we sort of wanted to be like a live band known for our live performances. So that was the biggest job - transferring a YouTube audience to people who [will] actually come down to [our] show."
