5 Seconds of Summer say their families are 'super proud' of ARIA nominations

5 Seconds of Summer have revealed that their families are overjoyed by their ARIA nominations.

The group are up for four awards at the Australian ceremony, which is taking place on November 26 in Sydney.

They are nominated in the Song of the Year, Best Pop Release, Breakthrough Artist and Best Group categories.

The pop-punks will also perform at the event and it seems they are doing their home country - and families - proud.

Ashton Irwin tweeted: "By the way still can't believe we are up for for ARIA's, I'm so stoked! And our families are super proud, hope you are too! X."

However, 5 Seconds of Summer's nominations tally is dwarfed by Chet Faker, who has landed nine nods - including Album of the Year and Best Male Artist.

Sheppard have seven nominations, whilst '1000 Forms of Fear' star Sia has six.
