5 Seconds of Summer star Ashton Irwin has revealed that his mind is currently "swimming" with ideas for the band's next record.

The Australians released their self-titled debut album earlier this year and it reached No.1 in the US.

They have already started looking ahead to its follow-up and it seems drummer Irwin is brimming with inspiration.

He tweeted at the weekend: "My mind is literally swimming with ideas for the next album...I'm going insane!!!"

5 Seconds of Summer meanwhile are due to return to the UK in June to play a series of headline arena dates.

The shows will form part of their Rock With Your Socks Out world tour.
