5 Seconds Of Summer: "The future holds a lot for this band and our supporters"

Australian rockers 5 Seconds Of Summer have been looking back on the phenomenal year they've had.

The ‘Don’t Stop’ quartet -  Michael Clifford, Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin - spoke to Rocksound about their highlights of 2014.

The 5SOS boys shared how important recording and releasing their self-titled, debut album was:

“Releasing the album was a massive milestone. We were all so excited for people to hear what it sounded like, so they might understand us a little better. Some of those songs had been in our heads for years.”

The Aussie group explained why they think their pop punk sound has proven to be a popular fusion: “We love rock music and playing rock shows. It's cool when people recognise that we are hopefully benefiting the world of rock by being in the pop world as a rock band. If we are leading a new audience to rock bands, that's awesome.”

They also spoke about their love of playing live: “Playing music for people is the biggest blessing. We can't thank our supporters enough.”

Finally, the band concluded that there is plenty more to come from 5SOS in 2015: “We're optimistic dudes, and we believe the future holds a lot for this band and our supporters. Let's see where we can take 5 Seconds of Summer!”

Tomorrow (December 15) sees the release of 5 Seconds Of Summer’s live album ‘LIVESOS’.
