5 Seconds of Summer are among the nominees for the Worst Band NME Award.

The music magazine are hosting their annual awards ceremony on February 18 at London's Brixton O2 Academy.

Australians 5 Seconds of Summer are in the running for the Worst Band gong alongside the likes of One Direction, Bastille and U2.

Blink-182 and The 1975 will also vie for the prize.

The 1975 meanwhile won the award in 2014, with One Direction reigning supreme in 2013 and 2012.

The now defunct Jonas Brothers bagged the award in 2011.
