5 Seconds of Summer star Michael Clifford has thanked the band's fans for making their year "amazing".

The Australian group have enjoyed a massive 2014, from releasing their debut album to touring the world with One Direction.

Speaking on Twitter today (December 29), guitarist Clifford said the last twelve months have been special for the quartet.

He said: "It's been such an amazing year.

"Thank you to everyone who helped make it amazing ESPECIALLY all of our supporters."

2015 meanwhile will see 5 Seconds of Summer embark on a headline world tour, with the Aussies expected to also release a new album.
