5 Seconds of Summer have reached out to their fans after winning at the People's Choice Awards.

The group toppled the likes of Fifth Harmony to win the Breakout Artist prize at the January 7 ceremony.

Speaking on Twitter today (January 8), the Australians thanked their fans for getting them the gong.

They said: "Thanks to everyone that voted us for Favourite Breakout Artist at the #PeoplesChoiceAwards, you are all amazing! We love you."

5 Seconds of Summer meanwhile have confirmed that their upcoming UK tour has sold out.

The band are visiting the country in June as part of their Rock Out With Your Socks Out tour.
