5 Seconds of Summer drummer Ashton Irwin has expressed his excitement ahead of hitting the road once again.

The band are due to embark on their Rock Out With Your Socks Out world tour this spring.

Speaking on Twitter, band member Irwin said that he can't wait to get out and play live shows again.

He said: "Thanks for sharing us with the world.

"So excited for this years touring and stuff, thank you if you are coming to see us on tour."

5 Seconds of Summer have been busy recently working on the follow-up to their 2014 self-titled debut album.

They have been writing with the likes of Sum 41 star Deryck Whibley and hitmaker Bonnie McKee.
