5SOS's Ashton teases recording sessions: 'We're digging deep for this new album'

Aussie pop-punkers 5 Seconds Of Summer are currently working on their highly anticipated sophomore album and drummer Ashton Irwin has given fans a little update on the progress.

The heartthrob took to his official Twitter page late last night and told his followers that he and the rest of the band are putting their hearts and souls into this offering: "Digging deep for this next album! I hope you love it, I know we do!"

Irwin went onto add that he couldn't lay down vocals yesterday because he was unwell, but he did some drumming and loved what he ended up with:

"I'm sick today... No singing for me I sound way too GRRH unless you guys would like the record too sound like the new Nickelback album. just played drums on some bad ass songs today... any day I get too play some drums is a great day."

The 5SOS boys recently told MTV News that they can't wait for their upcoming headlining tour and have a lot of creative control over the stage show they're producing: "We just want to make a show that they are going to want to come back and see for years to come ’cause we want to do this for as long as we can. We love it.”
