5SOS's Ashton reveals how he won his school's talent quest at age 12

Australian pop-punk heartthrob Ashton Irwin, of 5 Seconds Of Summer fame, has revealed that he won his school's talent competition when he was 12-years-old thanks to a certain song by a well-known rock band.

The drummer posted a screenshot of his phone's interface while he was listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers' 'Dani California' and explained that he played the song at the school's 'talent quest' and won first place:

"Remember playing this at my school talent quest with my pal when we were 12.. We came first and won a tennis ball..."

The 5SOS lads, meanwhile, are currently working on their sophomore album and Irwin teased that he and the band are putting their all into the project: "Digging deep for this next album! I hope you love it, I know we do! Just played drums on some bad ass songs today... any day I get to play some drums is a great day."
