5SOS arrive in London and apologise to waiting fans at Heathrow

Australian pop-punk heartthrobs 5 Seconds Of Summer have just arrived in London and apologised to fans waiting for them at Heathrow for not being able to come out and greet them.

Frontman Luke Hemmings took to his official Twitter page a few minutes ago and told his followers that security wouldn't let them meet people who had turned up to welcome them: "Good to be back in the UK :-) sorry about the airport, the airport security didn't want us to come out for safety reasons... I looked like a zombie anyways."

Guitarist Michael Clifford also shared a tweet and thanked fans for being so excited about their arrival: "Back in London townnnnnn. sorry we couldn't see you geezers at the airport."

5SOS, meanwhile, have recently been confirmed to perform at this year's BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend, which will take place at Norwich's Earlham Park on May 23-24. 5 Seconds of Summer have been announced to perform the main stage on the Saturday (May 23).
