5SOS celebrate impressive milestone after receiving Gold certification

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has confirmed that Aussie pop-punk heartthrobs 5 Seconds Of Summer are now celebrating a Gold certification thanks to over 500,000 sales of one of their 2014 singles.

Tweeting about their impressive accomplishments just before the weekend, the RIAA explained that the band have been enjoying fantastic sales with their single 'Good Girls' since its release and the Madden Brothers-penned track 'Amnesia' has been even more popular commercially: "New @RIAA honors for @5SOS! #GoodGirls is #GOLD & #Amnesia is #PLATINUM! @CapitolRecords."

A Platinum certification, which the lads received for 'Amnesia', happens when a song or record shifts over 1 million units. 5SOS, meanwhile, are currently working on their highly anticipated next album and Calum Hood recently told followers online that he's proud of the new material they're creating: "Listening to new tunes.. So proud of the lads on what they've written."
