5SOS on their new album: 'We've finished writing and it's almost all recorded'

Aussie pop-punkers 5 Seconds Of Summer have revealed that their forthcoming new studio album is almost complete.

During a new chat with All Time Low's Alex Gaskarth and Jack Barakat, for the band's radio show Full Frontal, frontman Luke Hemmings admitted that they've finished writing their highly anticipated new album and are pleased with the results so far:

"We've written the whole record as far as we know."

He continued: "It's basically all recorded almost, there's a few more things to do and then we'll put it out, put a single out. You know how it works - single, single, album."

Guitarist Michael Clifford went onto add that the songs they wrote with All Time Low made the final cut of the record. ATL's Gaskarth recently told Entertainment Weekly that he and the rest of his band are excited to watch 5SOS because they feel as though they have 'passed the torch' down to them:

"It’s a pretty awesome feeling to see it come full circle, knowing that we started in a basement looking up to bands like Green Day and Blink [182] and the Foo Fighters. To know that you’re that band for someone is cool and something special. I don’t think we expected to be that for anyone. They’re such good dudes and I see a lot of us in them—they remind me of us at that age, so it’s awesome to help guide them and pass the torch."
