5SOS drummer Ashton Irwin 'loves' his band's new songs

Australian pop-punk band 5 Seconds Of Summer are working on their highly anticipated sophomore album and drummer Ashton Irwin has revealed that he "loves" the new material they've been creating together.

The heartthrob took to his official Twitter page this afternoon (June 1) and confessed that the band's new songs are worth the wait: "I love the new songs... I love them so much."

As previously reported, 5SOS have been in the studio with the London Symphony Orchestra recording music for their next offering and frontman Luke Hemmings recently confessed that the record is mostly finished: "We've written the whole record as far as we know. It's basically all recorded almost, there's a few more things to do and then we'll put it out, put a single out. You know how it works - single, single, album."

Tonight, the lads will take the stage at the SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland and they told their followers on Twitter that they might be planning on getting cultural with the performance: "Quickly learning the bagpipes for my solo tonight."
