5SOS play milestone hometown gig minutes from where they began

Pop-punk band 5 Seconds Of Summer performed a 'hometown show' at the Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia last night (June 20) and revealed that it was a 'dream come true'.

Drummer Ashton Irwin uploaded a video message to Twitter prior to the gig and admitted that it's amazing to think they've managed to put on a headlining show at a venue with a 21,000 capacity in their home city:

"Looking back on everything and can't believe we're playing an arena in Sydney today. Started out here and we're going to end it here [...] thank you for getting us here and we can't wait to see you later."

Guitarist Michael Clifford also shared a tweet with fans, writing: "Hometown gig of all hometown gigs tonight.. ALLPHONES ARENA!!!! Well, that was awesome." Frontman Luke Hemmings added: "Dream come true to play at Allphones Arena last night, thank you!"
