5SOS: 'We're not just going to break up because it gets hard'

5 Seconds of Summer believe they won't "give up" as a band when times are hard.

The group's drummer Ashton Irwin told the Dana and Jayson Show that he feels the Australians are too switched on to let the band fall apart when there are difficulties.

He said: "It's the bands that realise that [there will be some bad days] that carry on and they push harder and they try to do better than the day before.

"That's how things work. I think people give up sometimes and sell themselves short. There's more to this band than that, and we're smart dudes.

"We're not just going to break up because it gets hard - we're just going to push on through."

Irwin added that the band's upcoming album 'Sounds Good Feels Good' means a lot to them.

The record will be released globally on October 23.

It follows up the quartet's self-titlted debut record, which was released in 2014.
