5 Seconds of Summer don't really speak to 1D: 'We're too busy'

5 Seconds of Summer have suggested that they're losing contact with One Direction.

The Australians have supported the pop group on tour in the past.

However, it seems busy schedules are getting in the way of the two acts' friendship.

Drummer Ashton Irwin told heat: "We don’t actually [speak anymore], we’ve been really busy at the moment.

"I got a nice message from Harry the other day, he said, ‘congratulations on the number one album’ but that’s about it."

One Direction meanwhile are set to take a break in 2016 to focus on individual projects.

However, Irwin wouldn't be keen on getting a solo One Direction singer to support them on tour.

He said: "No, that would be inappropriate I think. They will be just fine on their own."

5 Seconds of Summer meanwhile are promoting their second album 'Sounds Good Feels Good'.

They will mine the record for material during their 2016 Sounds Live Feels Live world tour.
