John Feldmann praises 5SOS for bringing guitars back

Producer John Feldmann (pictured left with 5SOS frontman Luke Hemmings) has praised 5 Seconds Of Summer for getting guitar music back into the mainstream market

Feldmann has been working with the heartthrobs for some time now and recently told Rolling Stone magazine that he's impressed by everything they've managed to achieve as a band so far.

Speaking to the music magazine, Feldmann explained: "I never in a million years would have said they would be on the cover of Rolling Stone in two years. I had so many fucking people say that 'guitars are over. They are over. It's all EDM and programming. And that's what people wanna hear.' And thank God, they proved them all wrong."

During a recent interview with 93.3 FLZ, the boys were asked if they have made any New Year's resolutions, to which frontman Luke Hemmings replied: "Make it better than last year." Clifford admitted that he wants to "stop being so fat", drummer Ashton Irwin revealed a desire to learn how to ride a motorcycle, and Calum Hood says that he hopes to "improve as a musician and as a person".

5SOS, meanwhile, are nominated in Pressparty's end of year readers' poll, which is open for voting until December 31 at 8pm UK time. They're up for Best Musical Act of 2015, Song of the Year, Best Male, Music Video of the Year, Best Fandom, Most Anticipated Tour of 2016, and Best Album of 2015. Click here to vote now.
