5 Seconds of Summer enjoy 94% boost on Billboard chart

5 Seconds of Summer have experienced a 94% increase in their position on a Billboard chart.

The music company say the band have re-entered its Artist 100 list at No.48.

The chart compiles data from Billboard Hot 100, Top Album Sales and the Social 50 lists.

It also takes into account album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media interaction.

The Australians have had a 650 percent rise in download sales, with 'Hey Everybody!' shifting 184% more units than last week.

Billboard suggest the band's popularity on the Artist 100 chart is down to their controversial Rolling Stone cover feature.

Some fans were left a little disappointed when band members openly spoke about their sex lives on the road.

Guitarist Michael Clifford also later denied making negative comments in the article about Justin Bieber.

A rep for the band recently told Pressparty "no comment" when asked about speculation the group will sue Rolling Stone.
