5 Seconds of Summer are attempting to fit intimate acoustic shows into their upcoming schedule.

The band are due to embark on their Sounds Live Feels Live world arena tour from mid-February.

However, drummer Ashton Irwin wrote on Twitter today (January 26) that the quartet want to strip things back.

He said the band are hoping to arrange some small-scale acoustic gigs to add into their itinerary.

Irwin said: "Dying to do some smaller acoustic shows for you guys, trying to fit it in."

The group will be promoting their second album 'Sounds Live Feels Live' on the road.

The chart-topping record was released in October.
