5 Seconds of Summer have been left shocked after selling out New York's iconic Madison Square Garden.

The group are due to play the venue on July 15 as part of their Sounds Live Feels Live tour.

Tickets have now all been snapped up for the date - leading the band to become speechless.

Guitarist Michael Clifford wrote on Twitter overnight: "Holy sh*t.

"Our Madison square garden show sold out today. Don't even have words."

The Australians' tour comes in support of their 2015 chart-topping album 'Sounds Good Feels Good'.

The live shows are kicking off in Asia in mid-February before the band head to Europe.
