5 Seconds Of Summer discuss the stigma of being a Millennial

'She Looks So Perfect' hitmakers 5 Seconds Of Summer recently sat down for an interview with Candy and opened up about being part of the Millennial generation.

Millennials (also known as Generation Y) are the demographic following Generation X and they have come under fire in many opinion pieces for being lazy and entitled, but the 5SOS lads think this is an incredibly unfair and limited viewpoint.

The band's drummer, Ashton Irwin, confessed that the one thing that's particularly cool about being part of the Millennial generation is being so well connected and able to interact instantly with people around the globe thanks to the advances of modern technology: "I think it's different in the sense that as young people, we're more in touch with each other. So for instance, when you asked a question about what we heard about our Filipino fans, you can ask our fan from another country and you might get similar answers because we're aware of each other. More than the older generation is."

"I think that's an important thing when understanding different cultures. The hard work thing? I don't know about that. People work hard. I mean, we do. We did. And we want to keep working hard."

Guitarist Michael Clifford added that touring has shown him that Millennials seem to have shared interests and ideas, which is something that also helps them to feel connected:

"As we toured around Asia, as well, each country is very different. Ashton pointed this out that even if they speak different language to us, we're still very similar in our generation and our culture. It's really interesting that we get to travel the world and see all that. We've always put out that message to people."
