5SOS' Michael Clifford sends love to Brussels after explosions

5 Seconds of Summer guitarist Michael Clifford has sent "love" to Brussels after a series of alleged terrorist attacks in Belgium city left tens of people dead.

Two explosions took place in the departures area of Zaventem airport this morning (March 22).

Another blast then occurred at Maalbeek metro station, with at least 26 people reported dead and several injured.

Speaking on Twitter, Australian Clifford said that he is despondent by the news.

He wrote: "Watching this news going on in Brussels makes me so sad.

"Could've been anyone you love in that airport/metro. All of my love and prayers."

The Vamps' James McVey meanwhile said: "Thinking of our beautiful fans and everyone in #Brussels . Please be careful. Please."

The news comes just days after Salah Abdeslam, the alleged mastermind of last year's Paris terror attacks, was arrested in Brussels.
