'She's Kinda Hot' hitmakers 5 Seconds Of Summer have revealed that they're glad One Direction chose them to open their tour back in 2013 because they had the drive and determination for such a big opportunity.

During a new chat with MYX Philippines, the lads opened up about the tour with One Direction that really thrust them into the spotlight. 

Michael Clifford explained: "They gave us a huge platform to work from. They put us on their tour originally in 2013 when we had no music released! We had one little EP, but it was nothing great... it wasn't rockin'. They gave us this massive platform and trusted we would bring it."

Drummer Ashton Irwin added: "They chose the right dudes. We really took that opportunity by the kahunas. When you take four guys like us, and we aspire to be a big band and touch a lot of people, we're determined. You give us a stage and we're going to do our best with it."
