5 Seconds of Summer love talking to their fans

5 Seconds of Summer came in to see Q100 Radio this week and spoke about how their relationship with their fans has matured.

Calum Hood explained: 'We've kind of grown together. It's less about photos and getting things signed, it's more about conversation which I prefer, having an experience with someone and just like talking with them.

'These guys they wait outside for 8 hours, they buy tickets to our shows. They dedicate their lives as much as we do, they deserve something.'

When asked about L.A. life, Ashton Irwin replied: 'We've been living there, on and off, since about 2014. Honestly, it was the place we kept gravitating back to the most. It felt really comfortable, and it felt we had opportunities there that we didn't have in other places.

'We feel good there, we've got really good friends there. We've created our own little culture around our band there, we make good music there.'

The Aussie band dropped their latest single "Want You Back" in February and plan to release their next album later this year.

The band released a statement about their comeback saying: "Finally… It’s been 3 years since our last album and we are so ready to share new music with the world. After spending the last 5 years on the road since the age of 16, it was important we took time to reflect as individuals and now we’re coming back stronger and more unified than ever.

"These songs mean the world to us and we have held nothing back in writing and recording this album. We’ve been rehearsing a lot of the new songs live and can’t wait to get back out on tour to connect with our incredible fans."

Their world tour kicks off on March 20 in Stockholm and finishes in Brazil on June 6. They are playing more intimate venues such as Heaven in London on April 5.
