ABC News’ ‘Good Morning America’ Searches for the Best Pie in America in Week-Long Series

‘United States of Pie’ Kicks Off in Tampa, Florida, on Monday, Nov. 14

“Good Morning America” continues its series in search of the best eats in America. The newscasts’ “United States of Pie” searches for the country’s best pies on a four-city tour, kicking off next week in Tampa, Florida, on Monday, Nov. 14. The series travels to Denver, Colorado, on Tuesday, Nov. 15, to Boston, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, Nov. 16, and to Chicago, Illinois, on Thursday, Nov. 17.

The first-round winners from each city are determined by a panel of guest judges and subsequently compete live, in-studio on “GMA” Friday, Nov. 18, to win the “United States of Pie” series and $10,000.

Tampa, Florida, guest judges Tyler Glasnow, Tampa Bay Rays pitcher; Titus O’Neil, WWE Global Ambassador and wrestler; and Joe Carballo, radio personality of “The Joe Show” on 93.3 FLZ will sample pies from local establishments Mike’s Pies, Inc. and Psomi. In Denver, Colorado, guest judges Kareem Jackson, Denver Broncos safety; Chelsea Thomas, radio personality of “The Bull” on 106.7 KWBL; and Danny New, anchor and “Mr. Positivity” reporter for Denver 7, determine the best local pie between The Colorado Cherry Company and 3.14 Pi Bar. Boston, Massachusetts, will feature guest judges Ming Tsai, restaurateur and television personality; Ty Law, former NFL player; and a surprise guest judge, who will decide the best pie between Sweet Teez Bakery and Petsi Pies. And in Chicago, Illinois, Joe Flamm, “Top Chef” winner; Kendra G, radio personality of WGCI; and Greg Dutra, meteorologist of WLS-TV, round out the series’ first-round winners judging between Hoosier Mama Pie Company and Spinning J Bakery and Soda Fountain.

Guest judges for the finale showdown on Friday, Nov. 18, are chef, television personality, restaurateur and author Richard Blais; singer, actress and chef Patti Labelle; New York Mets player Mark Canha; and “GMA’s” Lara Spencer.

The morning news program airs Monday-Friday (7:00-9:00 a.m. ET) on ABC.
