Week of Nov. 21, 2022:

“Good Morning America” averaged 3.247 million Total Viewers, 713,000 Adults 25-54 and 462,000 Adults 18-49 during the week of Nov. 21, 2022, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research.

Season to date, “GMA” (3.156 million) is ranking as the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers for the 11th consecutive year. “GMA” is leading NBC’s “Today” (2.945 million) by 211,000, nearly tripling its lead from the same point last season (+197%; vs. 71,000) to its largest in 7 years ― since the 2015-2016 season.

In addition, “GMA” is slashing its season margin with “Today” in Adults 25-54 versus the same point last season (-79% – 23,000 vs. 110,000) to its closest performance in 8 years ― since the 2014-2015 season.

During the week, “GMA” (3.247 million, 713,000 and 462,000, respectively) beat “CBS Mornings” (2.530 million, 508,000 and 347,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+717,000), Adults 25-54 (+205,000) and Adults 18-49 (+115,000).

NOTE: Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, “Good Morning America” was retitled to “GMA-ABC” on Thursday and Friday and “CBS Mornings” was coded as specials titled “CBS Mornings-SPL-TKG” from Wednesday-Friday. “Today” was coded as a special on Wednesday and was retitled to “Today-TS” on Friday. All retitled and specialed telecasts are excluded from the weekly averages. ABC’s weekly averages are based on three days (Monday-Wednesday), CBS’s weekly averages are based on two days (Monday and Tuesday), and NBC’s weekly averages are based on three days (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday).

November 2022 Sweep:

ABC News’ “Good Morning America” won the 2022 November sweep in Total Viewers (3.215 million), based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. “GMA’s” sweeps victory marked its 10th time in the last 11 years to win November and 16th consecutive sweeps win overall in Total Viewers ― since November 2012 and February 2019, respectively. “GMA” outdelivered NBC’s “Today” (2.984 million) by 231,000, nearly doubling its lead from the year-ago sweep (+85%; vs. 125,000) to its largest during November in 8 years ― since November 2014.

“GMA” slashed its margins with “Today” by more than half from the year-ago sweep in both Adults 25-54 (-75% – 19,000 vs. 75,000) and Adults 18-49 (-72% – 28,000 vs. 101,000), posting its closest November performance in both key Adult demos in 8 years ― since November 2014.

“GMA” grew from the previous sweep (July 2022) in Total Viewers (+9% – 3.215 million vs. 2.949 million) Adults 25-54 (+17% – 741,000 vs. 632,000) and Adults 18-49 (+21% – 511,000 vs. 424,000).

“GMA” (3.2154 million, 741,000 and 511,000, respectively) beat “CBS Mornings” (2.477 million, 566,000 and 393,000, respectively) during the 2022 November sweep in Total Viewers (+738,000), Adults 25-54 (+185,000) and Adults 18-49 (+118,000).
