IFC Films reunites with Jacques Audiard for 'Paris, 13th District'

IFC Films announce that they are acquiring U.S. rights to ‘PARIS, 13TH DISTRICT,’ directed, produced and co-written by award winning filmmaker Jacques Audiard. Audiard’s credits include the Palme d’Or winning DHEEPAN also released by IFC Films, Academy-Award® nominated A PROPHET, RUST AND BONE and the recent THE SISTERS BROTHERS.

He wrote the script with Céline Sciamma, who recently debuted her follow-up PETITE MAMAN in competition at this year’s Berlinale, and won best screenplay at Cannes 2019 for PORTRAIT OF A LADY ON FIRE along with a Golden Globe nomination, and Léa Mysius (AVA). The film stars newcomer Lucie Zhang, Makita Samba, Jehnny Beth and award winning actress Noémie Merlant (PORTRAIT OF A LADY ON FIRE). ‘PARIS, 13TH DISTRICT’ is adapted from well-known cartoonist, Adrian Tomine’s collection of graphic short stories KILLING AND DYING. He is most celebrated for his books OPTIC NERVE and SHORTCOMING, and his frequent contributions to The New Yorker. The film is produced by Valérie Schermann, edited by Juliette Welfling and the director of photography is Paul Guilhaume.

Paris, 13th District today. Émilie meets Camille who is attracted to Nora, who crosses the path of Amber. Three girls and a boy redefine what modern love is.

The deal for the film was negotiated by President of IFC Films Arianna Bocco with Nicolas Brigaud-Robert founder and co-head of Playtime on behalf of the filmmakers. Playtime is handling worldwide sales with Memento releasing in France.
