Rebel Sonix vs Geek Boy and Whiskey Pete 'Get it On' 16th July 2012

Rebel Sonix keep the beats coming with their new collaboration with Whiskey Pete ‘Get It On’.

Having heard Whiskey Pete and Figure's - Cut Throat track, Rebel Sonix decided to hit him up for some vocals on a Moombahton beat. The boys ended up writing new beats which was eventually this Moombahton roller 'Get it On'. The transatlantic track was produced alongside new Rebel Sonix member Geek Boy and features chopped up vox edits, rollin subs and sporadic bursts of mid range filth.

With support from Radio 1, 1xtra & XFM under their belt last year and a record breaking VJ/DJ set planned for London’s Pleasure Gardens this summer 2012 is going to be big for Rebel Sonix as they expand into a 3 strong bass monster.

Notes to Editors

About Rebel Sonix:

Rebel Sonix is comprised of London based DJ & Producer Larry Holcombe and Video Director & Motion Graphics Artist Phil G. They have had a string of releases out on Eight FX and Quantam labels including the hugely successful Ankle Grinder which received support from all the top players and Psydstep which gained major backing from Radio 1Xtra's Mistajam amongst others.

The Rebel Sonix DJ portfolio has taken the boys all over the world over from Minsk to Mumbai, and the duo's live audio-visual show has brought together the music and video sides of Rebel Sonix to produce a high octane sensory assault. Their skills have led to them to AV-mixing for high profile clients such as MTV, J&B Whiskey, Sky TV and Nike. They have also had peak slots at Shangri-La’s Hub stage at both the 2010 and 2011 Glastonbury festival.

Never to be defined by one genre, you will find them blending anything from dubstep to moombahton/moombahcore, dancehall, drum & bass and drumstep. Their only criteria is that their tracks are fiercely aimed at the dancefloor.

A mutual love of video and the relationship between sight & sound means that original tracks and/or remixes are always accompanied by a killer video. The 2012 EP is no different. Phil and Larry coined the term V-Mix for their unique style, which refers to their ability to remix video and audio simultaneously, mashing up a track’s music video as well as actually remixing the track itself!
