Adam Levine says releasing 'Moves Like Jagger' was like getting "kinky" in the bedroom

Maroon 5's Adam Levine has admitted that his group's hit single 'Moves Like Jagger' almost never made it into the public domain because they were initially worried about how it would be received.

Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, the heartthrob explained Maroon 5's reservations and said that they were "scared to release it":

"Sometimes a co-writer will write something that's almost better than what you would do, and it's like, 'S**t!'... Jagger was almost a mistake, I was scared to release it - but also turned on by that fear."

"It was the fresh injection we needed. We've been together a long time - it's like a marriage, where we needed to get kinky in the bedroom."

Guitarist James Valentine added that it was the perfect way to spice up their body of work:

"It actually has spiced up our marriage. I love you guys more now... Up to now, we've been insulated from the pop-industrial complex. We've been like, 'F**k you, we're a band.' But now, stepping into this new world of songwriters and producers, it feels fun."
