Adam Levine defends saying 'I hate this country' on 'The Voice'

Maroon 5 heartthrob Adam Levine has defended his recent outburst on 'The Voice', in which he was heard declaring "I hate this country" after two of his best performers were eliminated from the show.

The 'Payphone' hitmaker's microphone picked up the sentence, which has been a talking point this week, but he explained to CBS Sunday Morning (set to air on June 2) that sometimes he simply doesn't think before he speaks although he was incredibly frustrated by the talent show's voting outcome:

"I'm very much okay with who I am and comfortable in my skin enough to embrace that even though I don't say everything the right way and you know, tend to be a bit impulsive with some of the words that I select."

"I am passionately invested in my team and want to see my artists succeed. Last night's elimination of Judith and Sarah was confusing and downright emotional for me and my comments were made based on my personal dissatisfaction with the results."
