Steven Tyler apologises for 'racist' criticism aimed at Nicki Minaj

Rap sensation Nicki Minaj recently expressed her disgust at a 'racist' comment made by former 'American Idol' panelist Steven Tyler, but Tyler has now apologised.

Last week, Minaj took to her official Twitter page and slammed the Aerosmith rocker for criticising her judging style. She wrote: "Steven Tyler said I would have sent Bob Dylan to a cornfield??? Steven, you haven't seen me judge one single solitary contestant yet!"

"I understand you really wanted to keep your job but take that up with the producers. I haven't done anything to you. That's a racist comment."

Speaking to Canadian entertainment show eTalk about his remarks, Tyler confessed that he was sorry for offending her and apologised: "I apologise if it was taken wrong, Nicki."

"But I am the farthest from [being a racist]. I am the last thing on this planet as far as being a racist. I don't know where she got that out of me saying I'm not sure how she would've judged Bob Dylan."
