Alexandra Burke offers support to family of Stephen Lawrence

Alexandra Burke has spoken of her desire to see the end of racism.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Burke said that she is shocked racism still takes place in the world today, and commented on the recent Stephen Lawrence murder trial.

Earlier in the week two men were convicted of killing Lawrence, nearly 19 years after his death, and Burke moved to send support to his family. She said:

"It's shocking that racism is still going on in this day and age. The Lawrence family have had some justice; some might say the sentence isn't long enough, however I send them my prayers."

Burke meanwhile recently revealed why she has signed up to help charity organisation Breast Cancer Care, stating that her auntie died in her arms after suffering the disease.
