Alicia Keys pays tribute to Martin Luther King

Alicia Keys paid tribute to Martin Luther King as the US honoured the late civil rights icon on what would have been his birthday.

The singer was among many who spread a message of equality on Monday (January 16) on Martin Luther King Day. She took to Twitter to share a video of Nina Simone's 'Why The King of Love is Dead', adding:

"'Why?' was written for MLK & it beautifully honors his life's work. Today more than ever I share the sentiment #MLKDAY. The rough places will be made plain and the crooked places will be made straight #IHaveADream."
