Alicia Keys has ended her working relationship with BlackBerry after just one year.

The US singer was employed by the mobile phone maker to work as their global creative director.

However, the company have confirmed that Keys is no longer working for them - with the news coming amid a slash in profits.

They said in a statement: "We have enjoyed the opportunity to work with such an incredibly talented and passionate individual."

BlackBerry lost almost a billion dollars in the second quarter of last year and failed to find a buyer when it put itself up for sale.

Keys meanwhile initiated the company's Keep Moving project, which aimed to bring together creative people and sports stars.
