5 times Ariana Grande inspired us with her love of animals

Superstar Ariana Grande has always been vocal about her love of animals and support for their rights and welfare, so we've rounded up five different moments where she inspired us with her devotion to them.

1) When she used her tour to help find forever homes for rescue dogs.

At both of her 2015 Madison Square Garden concerts, the 'Problem' sensation sponsored fifteen puppies from New York City shelter Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue and showed photographs of the adorable dogs on screens in hopes that some of her fans might be interested in adopting them.

Grande explained via Instagram that she would make sure the homes were suitable before allowing any of the pups to leave with audience members: "The team will of course be making sure that the people who reach out make a suitable family/home for the pups in need."

2) On November 5, 2013, when she announced her transition to a fully vegan diet and lifestyle. She tweeted:

"I've eaten organically since I was little and always kept meat minimal but today marks my first day as a 100% Vegan!!!! Joyous day."

Upon seeing the tweet, PETA responded with a database full of easy and delicious recipes, to which she replied: "@peta thanks for those recipes! and yeah it's definitely something to celebrate. My heart feels very happy with this decision."

3) When Ariana rushed to defend the damaged reputation of pit bulls during a national radio interview with Ryan Seacrest. She told him: "Anyone who has any sort of horrible idea about what a pit bull is, you are so wrong... Cinnamon (pictured below) is an angel."

4) When Ariana Grande donated a whopping $20,000 to Elvis Duran's Rock and Rawhide, which is a nonprofit organisation that "aims to increase adoptions and quality of life for dogs and cats in shelters, by providing distraction therapy and noise/stress reduction through the donations of toys, tough chew items, Kongs, Nylabones, bones, rawhides, blankets and more."

The hitmaker made a $10k donation after turning up late to an interview with Duran, then added an extra $10k to the existing amount because she accidentally swore on-air. Duran then added $10k of his own to the sum, making the total donation $30,000.

5) The fact that she spends some of her spare time visiting shelters and animal sanctuaries. Like the time she made the trip to PreetiRang Sanctuary in the San Francisco Bay Area, which saw her share a few adorable photos and tell her followers:

"Can't express what a magical experience it was. My heart is w/ those babess! All animals should live happily & safely as they do at #preetirang. Thank you so much to the preetirang crew for having me, this was one of the best days I've ever had."
