An MTV interviewer prickled Ariana Grande at the VMAs on Sunday (August 28) by referring to her doughnut-licking escapades.

The singer apologised last year after being caught on CCTV licking food at a doughnut store in Lake Elsinore.

She spent some time with MTV's Charlamagne Tha God at the VMAs and he decided to bring up the incident.

He said: "Now you can’t go around licking no pastries tonight."

Grande gave a stern look, but replied: "Okay, alright I'll take notes."

The singer meanwhile performed 'Side By Side' at the star-studded ceremony.
