Avicii has landed the title of Spotify's Hottest Artist Under 25.

The Swedish DJ, who is 24, has acrued 235 million plays on the streaming service for his track 'Wake Me Up' alone.

This has helped him to become Spotify's most streamed artist aged under 25 over the last year.

The 'Lay Me Down' hitmaker commented: "This has been such an incredible year, and taking the top spot on Spotify's 25 Under 25 (just a few months before my 25th birthday!) is unbelievable.

"I truly love what I do and I'm so grateful to my fans and to Spotify for being such enthusiastic supporters of my music."

Lorde is second on the list - helped by her track 'Royals' getting 70m hits - whilst Miley Cyrus is third.

One Direction are fourth on the hottest artist list, with 'Red' star Taylor Swift soon following.
