Azealia Banks issues apology after racial and homophobic rants

Azealia Banks has offered an apology after using racial and homophobic slurs on Twitter.

The rapper was blocked from the social networking platform last week after having a go at Zayn Malik for allegedly copying one of her videos.

Some of her messages included: "When your entire extended family has been obliterated by good ol’ the U.S of A will you still be trying to...Act like a white boy pretending to be black?"

The US star also took aim at teenage Disney actress Skai Jackson.

In a new Instagram post, Banks has apologised for letting her "anger" get the better of her.

She said: "Employing racial/sexual slurs/stereotypes in attempts to make fun of or degrade another person or group is not fair or fun for anyone.

"Allowing my anger to get the best of me, I’ve managed to insult millions of people without reason. And for that I give my deepest apologies."
