Eighth celebrity contestant for Strictly Come Dancing 2016 confirmed

Model Daisy Lowe is the eighth celebrity contestant to be confirmed for the brand new series of Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One.

The announcement was made today (Wednesday 17 August) via the official BBC Strictly Twitter and Facebook feeds where it was confirmed that Daisy will be taking part in the brand new series.

“I am used to being on the catwalk and campaigns of major fashion brands with lots of eyes on me but this is completely different from anything I have ever done before! My family and friends and I adore Strictly, so when the chance came up to take part - I jumped at it! I am itching to get started and am so looking forward to learning a new skill.” said Daisy.

Discovered at the age of 15, Daisy is in demand as a high end fashion model and recently became a British Fashion Council Ambassador for London Fashion Weekend.

Since her career began, Daisy has starred in major fashion campaigns for some of the biggest labels in the world and continues to appear in commercial advertising campaigns and at fashion shows across the globe.

Outside of modelling, her many accomplishments include acting in feature and independent films, appearing in music videos and she is also an author of a sweet treat cookery book.

More celebrity contestants for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing will be announced soon.
