Witching Hour comes to Manchester as stars line up for the premiere of CBBC’s The Worst Witch
Worst Witch cast members Claire Higgins, Wendy Craig, and Bella Ramsey joined a host of North West stars including Wes and Leanne Brown and actress Angela Griffin at the premiere of CBBC’s brand new series ‘The Worst Witch’ at Manchester Town Hall.
They were all accompanied by their family and friends as they entered the magical world of Cackle’s Academy. The fun-filled event saw guests don their witches’ hats and have a go at brewing potions and practicing incantations before being given the chance to be the first to see the new CBBC series, which premieres on Wednesday 11 January on CBBC.
Also in attendance were cast members Nicola Stephenson, Shauna Simm, Miebh Campbell, Tamara Smart, Jenny Richardson, Tallulah Milligan, Dagny Rollins and Kacey Ainsworth. The event was hosted by CBBC presenters Ben Shires and Karim Zeroul.

The Worst Witch is a fantastic and ambitious re-imagining of the much loved Jill Murphy books centring on Mildred Hubble who is catapulted head first, quite literally, into Miss Cackle’s Academy for Witches.
Mildred doesn’t come from a family of witches and is enjoying a normal day when a witch, Maud Spellbody, suddenly lands on her apartment balcony on her way to the selection day at Cackle’s Academy. Persuaded by Maud to go along too, Mildred is introduced to a whole new world of magic and her life is changed forever.
Although she tries her best, her lack of magical knowledge see her constantly getting things wrong, and the series follows her adventures as she strives not to be The Worst Witch.
Speaking from the Red Carpet, Bella Ramsey who plays Mildred Hubble said: "It was magical coming to Manchester Town Hall today and being immediately transported to Miss Cackles Academy for Witches. I had so much fun filming the Worst Witch and I loved reliving it all again."
