The brand new music quiz (6x30') will be made by Tuesday’s Child and is a joint commission from BBC Entertainment and BBC Music.

Hosted by Rochelle and Marvin Humes, Playlisters (w/t) promises to be an addictive music quiz that viewers can’t help playing and singing along to. Each week, three couples will compete for a chance to win £10,000 and all they have to do is name the song and the artist - simple! Each round will be filled with hit songs from the sixties to today covering every style of pop music.

Presenters Rochelle and Marvin Humes say: “This is our first standalone show together and the fact it’s a format based on our love of music makes it all the more rewarding. We frequently put each other’s knowledge to the test at home, so we cannot wait to see how the contestants get on.”

Kate Phillips, Controller Entertainment Commissioning at the BBC says: “I can’t think of a better way to kick off Saturday nights. Hosted by the deeply competitive Rochelle and Marvin Humes, it’ll have everyone at home shouting out the answers and singing along.”

Jan Younghusband, Head of Commissioning BBC Music says: ““This is a chance for all music fans to test their knowledge and kick start Saturday nights with the music we love, whilst also reliving some iconic musical moments. BBC Music is delighted to work with Rochelle and Marvin, who will have everyone at home bursting into song, me included!”

Karen Smith, Managing Director of Tuesday’s Child and Executive Producer of Playlisters says: “It's a really fun quiz that will have the whole family playing along. You've already heard all the answers, should be easy right?”

The Executive Producer of Playlisters is Karen Smith for Tuesday’s Child. It has been commissioned for BBC One by Kate Phillips, Controller Entertainment Commissioning and Charlotte Moore, Director of BBC Content and by Jan Younghusband, Head of Commissioning and James Stirling, Head of Content Commissioning for BBC Music. The Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Jo Street.

Playlisters will debut on BBC One in 2019.
