At Sunday’s ceremony in Los Angeles there were wins in performance categories for three series made by the BBC and BBC America.

Richard Madden won Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama for his role in Bodyguard and Ben Whishaw won Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for his role in A Very English Scandal, both commissioned by BBC drama. Whilst Sandra Oh won Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama for her role in Killing Eve, commissioned by BBC America.

Meanwhile the FX series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story which premiered on BBC Two in the UK won two awards - Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television and Darren Criss for Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.

It’s been a great year for the BBC with a series of big hits that have resonated with audiences at home and around the world. We’re delighted to be flying the flag for British stories and British talent in an increasingly competitive market.”

BBC dramas were also nominated in two categories. Bodyguard and Killing Eve were both nominated for Best Television Series - Drama, whilst A Very English Scandal was nominated for Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. All three series are available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

In addition to this Sandra Oh, Richard Madden, Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw were all nominated for individual awards.

BBC acquisitions The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story was nominated in four categories and Atlanta was nominated in one category. The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story was first shown in the UK on BBC Two and Atlanta was shown in the UK on BBC Two.
