BBC Radio 1’s Teen Awards is set to return for a one day spectacular across radio, TV & online, with performances from YUNGBLUD, AJ Tracey and Jax Jones.

With a new look this year, the star-studded event will take place at Television Centre in front of an exclusive audience of 500 Radio 1 fans on Sunday 24 November 2019.

Hosted by BBC Radio 1 presenters Greg James, Maya Jama and Mollie King, the show will later broadcast on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Two on Saturday 30 November.

For the chance to watch all the action live, listeners aged 14-17 can register for free tickets from 8am on Monday 28 October until 8am on Thursday 31 October via the Radio 1 website. The tickets will be randomly selected in pairs via a ballot.

Yorkshire’s YUNGBLUD has been heavily supported by Annie Mac and Jack Saunders on Radio 1, as well as BBC Introducing.

He has amassed a sizable online following, with nearly 1.5 million Instagram fans. He made his Live Lounge debut in September during Radio 1’s Live Lounge Month and his cover of Shawn Mendes (with added Amy Winehouse and Travis Scott) is approaching two million views.

West London’s AJ Tracey has long been supported by Radio 1 and 1Xtra and his self-titled debut album reached number three earlier this year. His track ‘Ladbroke Grove’ is arguably one of the biggest songs of the summer, spending twelve weeks in the Top 10 and peaking at Number Three.

DJ and producer Jax Jones also hails from London and has a Number One and three Top Five singles under his belt, including collaborations with Demi Lovato, Stefflon Don, Years & Years, Jess Glynne and Mabel to name a few. He has been a mainstay at Radio 1’s Big Weekend over the past couple of years, bringing his carnival vibes to Middlesbrough and Swansea.

Now in its tenth year, Radio 1’s Teen Awards is the biggest teen event in the pop music calendar and shines a light on some of the UK’s most inspirational teens, seeing them crowned Teen Heroes of 2019 in front of an audience of 14-17 year-olds. Nominated by Radio 1 listeners, the deserving Teen Heroes will be chosen by a panel of judges consisting of Radio 1 DJs.

The two hour awards show is known to attract some of the biggest names across music, television, film and sport with guests in previous years including Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Dua Lipa, Liam Payne and Zoella.
