On Wednesday 18 March, the BBC Drama Village in Birmingham will be opening its doors to fans from across the UK to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of BBC daytime drama Doctors for exclusive behind the scenes tours!

100 lucky fans will get the chance to visit the well-known sets where famous alumni such as Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Jodie Comer had a brush with The Mill practice in their early careers.

There will be plenty of opportunities for selfies on set, from the likes of Bear Sylvester’s office in The Mill, to the Police Station entrance and Ikon nightclub; fans will be able to walk the walk of their favourite characters. They’ll even be able to get behind the reception desk in The Mill; stroll through the make-up and costume department, and speak to the creative team that bring their favourite characters to life. Not only this but fans might be able to glimpse the cast filming scenes for the show.

Mike Hobson, Executive Producer of Doctors, says, “In 2017 we opened our doors for the first time to fans and it was such a huge success we thought there was no other way to mark the 20th anniversary than another open day! We have such a massive and devoted fan base for the drama, not only in the Midlands but all over the country, so we wanted to do something special that fans from across the UK can enjoy.”

Will Trotter, Head of Daytime Drama at the BBC Drama Village, says, “There have been some excellent dramas that have come out of the Drama Village, with Doctors being one of the most successful.

“Fans will be treated to a guided tour by Drama Village staff where they will get first-hand knowledge about the sets, locations and what our award-winning writers have in store for some of BBC One’s favourite characters.”

100 lucky fans will be in with a chance of getting hold of a golden ticket to have the ultimate Doctors experience. To get your hands on a ticket, super fans just need to apply via BBC Shows and Tours here www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/ and winners will be selected at random.
