Sir Nicholas Serota CH and Baroness Grey-Thompson to continue on BBC Board

The BBC has today announced the re-appointment of Sir Nicholas Serota CH as a non-Executive Director to the BBC Board. He is the Board’s current Senior Independent Director. Sir Nicholas will now serve a new three year-term starting on 3 April 2021 and concluding on 2 April 2024.

The BBC Board has also extended the appointment of Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, DBE, DL, also a non-Executive Director to the Board, from 3 April 2021 until December 31 2021.

Along with their fellow non-Executive Directors, Sir Nicholas and Baroness Grey-Thompson are responsible for upholding and protecting the independence of the BBC by acting in the public interest and exercising independent judgement. They also ensure that the Board’s decision-making is in the public interest, informed by the best interests of the audience and with appropriate regard to the impact of decisions on the wider media market in the UK.
