Jermaine Jenas & Ronan Keating join Alex Jones as new permanent co-presenters on The One Show

Jermaine and Ronan will be familiar to regular viewers having been part of The One Show’s wider presenting family over the past year, although it is the first time new permanent co-hosts have been appointed on the programme in a decade.

The One Show broadcasts on BBC One week nights at 7pm, entertaining a regular audience of 4m viewers - and peaks of 5m during the lockdowns last year, with a mix of topical stories from around the UK, big name studio guests and much loved talent.

Jermaine will co-present with Alex from Monday-Wednesday, with Ronan joining Alex on the sofa on Thursday and Friday each week, starting Monday 10 May.

Jermaine Jenas says: “I’ve absolutely loved being a part of The One Show, Alex, the team and the viewers have made me feel so welcome and we’ve had a lot of fun already - I’m really looking forward to joining as a full time host alongside Ronan.”

Ronan Keating says: "I’m so delighted to officially be a part of The One Show family. It’s a show I’ve loved for many years as both a guest and a host and I can’t wait to get started alongside Alex, Jermaine and the wonderful team behind the scenes.’’

Both Jermaine and Ronan will continue with their existing commitments alongside their roles on the programme. Members of The One Show’s extended family of presenters, including Amol Rajan and Alex Scott, will continue to co-host episodes across the year.

Alex Jones has presented The One Show since 2010, she adds: “Presenting The One Show is such a special privilege, especially in the last year - I am proud of the role we’ve played in keeping the nation company through these difficult times. We’re so lucky to have an amazing family of talent on The One Show and I’ve really loved getting to know Jermaine and Ronan on the sofa, it’s so exciting that they will be my co-hosts all year round.”

The One Show airs at 7pm each weekday evening on BBC One, it is a BBC Studios production.

Jermaine Jenas

Since retiring from a successful football career, Jermaine Jenas has established himself as a respected broadcaster and pundit for the BBC on Match of the Day and BT Sport, providing commentary and thoughtful analysis for both channels, at home and internationally. He has also fronted documentaries and hosts his own show, MOTDX, for BBC and has been a guest co-presenter on The One Show since September 2020.

Ronan Keating

Ronan Keating is an internationally renowned musician, beginning his career in the multi-platinum selling band Boyzone. Alongside his music career, he is the co-host of Magic FM’s breakfast show and has featured in long standing TV formats as a judge on The X Factor and The Voice Australia. Since his first appearance as a co-host on the One Show in 2017, Ronan has been guest presenting the show since 2020.

The One Show has been on air throughout the pandemic, providing a vital public service but also keeping the nation entertained and providing company; by the end of March 2021, Alex Jones had presented 215 shows across the last year in total

Alex Jones recently announced her pregnancy. No decision has been made on the cover for her maternity leave, although the show has well-known family of presenters, known to viewers over the past year

The team have celebrated the efforts of key workers and people doing extraordinary things around the country over the pandemic with our One Big Thank You. They’ve also had special features such as the featuring the National Teaching Awards on the show and celebrating the work of teachers and schools this past year
