The commissions include two new home make over programmes for BBC One Daytime. Clean It, Fix It (15 x 45) will see a team of experts - extreme cleaner, Maxine Dwyer, skilled carpenter, Asher Edwards, and building legend, Tommy Walsh - help people bring their homes back to life with some clever, common sense hacks that don’t bust the bank balance.

Whilst Virtually Home (15x45) will offer interior makeover solutions using cutting-edge virtual reality technology for those seeking to update their decor on modest budgets, produced by the makers of Homes Under The Hammer. Both formats will also air in the peak schedule in shorter reversions.

Also on BBC One, a new 15-part series Dirty Rotten Scammers (15x45), will see Michelle Ackerley and her mum Mavis explore the rising crime of cyber enabled fraud, hacking and other internet led crime. The mother and daughter duo will meet victims of online crime to hear their stories, as well as the experts to find out what red flags viewers at home should be on the lookout for.

In addition, a new competitive format for BBC Two Early Peak, Take A Hike (15x30), will see five walkers go head-to-head to discover the best scenery the UK has to offer.

Over on BBC Two in Early Peak, after the success of the first series shining a spotlight on the beauty of Cornwall, Rick Stein will be back in early 2022 with a second 10-part series, travelling around the region. Also, returning to BBC One Daytime is a fourth series of the popular auction format, The Bidding Room hosted by Nigel Havers.

Carla-Maria Lawson, Head of BBC Daytime and Early-Peak, says: “There’s a lot to look forward to this autumn and winter across the BBC One and Two schedules with these new titles offering a mix of properly useful and entertaining content that takes us across the UK. Clean It, Fix It

It’s not always easy keeping a house in order but help is at hand, courtesy of the Clean It, Fix It team - extreme cleaner, Maxine Dwyer, skilled carpenter, Asher Edwards, and building legend, Tommy Walsh - on BBC One Daytime. In each episode Maxine, Tommy and Asher have just one day on site to help a household reclaim their space, and fall back in love with their home.

Virtually Home (w/t)
BBC One (15x45)

Virtually Home is a brand-new, cutting edge, interior design series featuring people stuck in a design rut. The show will use virtual reality (VR) to help avoid people with modest budgets making expensive interior design mistakes. The series will showcase a diverse variety of projects across the UK, and will allow the contributors to truly visualise their dream designs in spectacular VR, before implementing them in actual reality.

The series will feature four of the UK’s leading interior designers – Karen Livingstone Welstead who lives in Glasgow, Russell Sage based in Somerset, Kunal Trehan in Cheshire and Simon Hamilton from London. Each will be matched with members of the public who either have different styles and ideas for a room make over from each other or are conflicted themselves with which way to turn.

Each episode will see the designers offer up two distinct VR designs from the Edinburgh based studio. Once the contributor decides which design they will go ahead with, they will capture the progress of the makeover in video diaries until the result is revealed to the designer at the end of the episode.

Virtually Home is a Lion TV production for BBC One, and will be produced in Scotland. The Executive Producer is Lisa Hazlehurst and the Series Producer is Mat Marsters. The Commissioning Editor is Muslim Alim for BBC Daytime.

Dirty Rotten Scammers
BBC One (15x45)

Dirty Rotten Scammers is a new daytime series examining the world of cyber enabled fraud, hacking and other internet led crime. Presented by Michelle Ackerley and her mum, Mavis, the series meets with victims of online crime and learns the stories of how their information may have come to be compromised.

Alongside the contributor stories, Michelle and Mavis will be speaking to a number of experts – including the police, cyber experts, consumer champions, representatives from banks and more – to find out what the red flags viewers at home should be on the lookout for. It will also follow the operational activity of police officers trying to quell the rising tide of cyber related fraud in the UK.

Dirty Rotten Scammers is an ITN Productions series for BBC One and will be produced in Leeds. The Executive Producer is Caroline Short and the Series Producer is Steve McConville. The Commissioning Editor is Lindsay Bradbury for BBC Daytime.

Take A Hike
BBC Two (15x30)

In a brand-new, fun format for BBC Daytime, each week five people go head-to-head to discover the best walks the UK has to offer.

If there’s one thing people love in Britain, it’s a great walk. Whether it’s a trip to the seaside to soak up the rays, a challenging hike up a rugged mountain, or a picturesque river-side stroll. It could be for the jaw-dropping views or the great company, or just the joy of being outdoors.

In this new 15-part series, people from all walks of life across the UK will have to pull out all the stops. Taking it in turns to lead the walk, the others will rate the quality of the route, picnic, views and entertainment. Come rain or shine, uphill or down dale, will they give 10/10 or a measly 1?

At the end of the week, the winner will walk off with a voucher for outdoor gear, and the coveted “Golden Walking Stick”. So let the challenge commence. It’s time to Take A Hike!

Take A Hike is a Cardiff Productions programme, the Executive Producer is Narinder Minhas and the Series Producer is Rebecca Nunn. The Commissioning Editor for BBC Daytime is Julie Shaw.

Rick Stein's Cornwall
BBC Two (15x30)

Building on the huge success of series one, Rick Stein will once again take viewers on a rich journey of discovery around his home county of Cornwall.

Rick is back on his mission to show the nation what Cornwall means to him, as he travels to more of his favourite haunts – championing the food, history, music, art, culture and wildlife he adores so much. With his warm and knowledgeable style, Rick will introduce characters who keep the Celtic heart beating and friends who share his passion for this unique corner of the British Isles.

Punctuated with an occasional wild swim in the stunning landscapes of England’s most westerly peninsula, Rick explores and reveals more delights from the county he’s called home for over 50 years.

Rick Stein’s Cornwall (15x30) is a Shine TV (part of Banijay UK) production in conjunction with Rick Stein Productions. The Executive Producer for Shine TV is Matt Bennett and the Commissioning Editor for BBC Daytime & Early Peak is Rachel Platt.
