Interview with Brandon Micheal who plays Josh in new BBC drama ChloePHOTO: Josh (Brandon Micheal Hall)OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASENEWS PROVIDED BY BBC One Brandon Micheal Hall plays Josh Can you tell us about Josh? Josh is the voice of reason. He falls for Becky’s adventurous and almost mystique quality, but he also understands the trouble she’s getting herself into isn’t something she has to do. Throughout Becky’s journey during the season, Josh becomes her conscience in a way, and I think that has real significance in the story. Why is Josh so accepting of Becky’s double life? Oh, he likes it! I think Josh craves excitement, he craves some sort of adventure, and that’s what draws him to Becky and excites him. I think at the same time even though he’s cautious of what she’s doing, he understands there’s a pull there that he just can’t tug away from, y’know? What is Becky and Josh’s relationship? It starts as a very physical attraction, but as they start to open to each other it becomes a more romantic relationship that neither one of them expected nor was initially seeking out. But there is no denying that feelings are there, so they have no choice but go on that journey together. Identity is a big theme throughout the series, what is Josh’s perspective? I believe Josh is very grounded in who he is and what he wants in life, and has always been that way. I also think he’s in a place where he’s ready to break the mould of what he thinks is right, hence why he goes on this journey with Becky. AboutThe series will start on BBC One on Sunday, 6 February at 9PM. Episodes will also be available to watch online on iPlayer.
